Engineering principles
Ezako’s software is designed around three principles: data remains on the customer’s infrastructure, the analyst retains the final decision, and every change is traceable. Long recordings and large acquisitions are processed on standard workstations, without cloud services.
Principles
Offline operation
Desktop applications store their data locally and operate without a network; synchronisation with UpalgoDB and software updates go through the local network only. Upalgo is in production on fully air-gapped sites.
Human validation
Models pre-label; analysts validate, correct and review. Each label records its author and, where given, the justification.
Traceability
Every change is auditable and reversible; dataset versions are immutable once built.
Standards and software supply chain
Standards
FDSN metadata for DAS; WebDataset and Hugging Face formats for datasets; JSONL and CSV for labels; public reference data for the ocean (ETOPO 2022, World Ocean Atlas 2023).
Software supply chain
Signed releases with checksums and software bill of materials (SBOM); hardened server components; GDPR article 28 processing for the annotation service.
